This façade renovation is created out of a very simple array of parts: commercially available water bottles, reclaimed water to fill the bottles, cable and steel framing and water message stickers.

The plastic water bottles will be rented or borrowed from a supplier, filled with water on the site, and then stacked as shown in the elevation and plan drawings. Water bottles can be quite heavy, and so they will be reinforced by securing the bottles together with cable, diagonally, horizontally and vertically creating an internally cohesive grouping. To further reinforce and stabilize the framework, an overhead frame of steel rebar reinforcement will be used.

On the ends of each of the bottles, there will be a colorful sticker placed with a short fact about water and the human relationship to water.

The water will be harvested from sustainable sources, and after the façade project is done, the water will used in some sustainable way and then the bottles will go back to the recycler. All materials will be recycled after their use in the façade project.
